About Jabalpur
Jabalpur is one of the most important cities of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is well connected to metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Nagpur by road as well as rail. It is the headquarter of West Central Railway. Spicejet Airlines provides daily service for Jabalpur-Delhi and Jabalpur-Mumbai. Similarly, Indian Airlines operates daily Delhi-Jabalpur flight. The city is connected with three National Highways, i.e. NH-7 (Varanasi-Kanyakumari), NH-12 (Jabalpur-Jaipur), NH-12A (Simga-Chattisgarh-NH-26 near Jhansi).
The city of Jabalpur was a hub of important economic and military activities during the British period. It still maintains several colonial buildings of the era. It has major ordinance factories and establishments namely, the Ordnance Factory Khamaria, the Gun Carriage Factory (GCF), the Vehicle Factory (VFJ), the Grey Iron Foundry (GIF), the EME workshop, a Central Ordnance Depot, Signal's Center and Army Area Head Quarters with 2 Lt General rank officers and the College of Materials Management (CMM). Jabalpur is also a big Defence and Military Center having the College of Defence Management. Narmada river, after originating from Amarkantack, descends to Jabalpur. The famous multipurpose 'Bargi Dam' Project on Narmada is located here. The city attracts tourists from all over the world to visit its Bhedaghat of marble rocks and Dhuandhar falls. There exist several 10th century historical monuments belonging to Kalchury dynasty in Jabalpur. Famous Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Pench wildlife sanctuaries are located around it.
Under the brightly lit moon, 100 feet tall mountains of marble change forms as the river Narmada passes through it. This view is so scenic that it stays with you for long. But this is just one of the many gifts that Jabalpur offers.

Bandhavgarh is a place of mythological and legendary significance. The ancient Bandhavgarh Fort is of great importance as it is believed to have been gifted by Lord Rama to his younger brother Lakshmana. 'Bandhav' in English means brother and ‘Garh’ means fort. Hence the name, Bandhavgarh. Bandhavgarh dates back to 2000 years ago and you will find several man-made caves with inscriptions and rock paintings. Bandhavgarh is also the land of tigers. This is the place to visit if you want to spot the big cat. India’s top dwelling for tigers, Bandhavgarh National Park has the highest density of Royal Bengal tigers in the world. The sight of the majestic tiger, up close and personal, is said to trigger a sense of awe in you, of the kinds you would have only experienced in your childhood.
Dumna Nature Reserve Park is an ecotourism site open to the public located in the Jabalpur district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It includes a dam, forests, and wildlife in a 1058-hectare area A balancing rock is located near Madan Mahal fort in Jabalpur city. The Balancing Rock is the example of the eroded volcanic rock formations. The rock balances on the huge base rock by just touching it slightly. Yet it is amazingly that the Balancing Rock survived even in earthquake of magnitude 6.5.
