Objective

The primary objective of the post-graduate symposium is to serve as a forum for Masters and Doctoral students to present their work and obtain guidance from mentors. The symposium aims to provide students an opportunity to interact with established researchers and other peers. Mentors will provide feedback on the current work and give advice for possible future directions and focus. The mentors will be a small group of experienced researchers from academia and industry.

Scope

The scope of submissions is limited to the themes of ISEC. Students researching in all aspects of Software Engineering are encouraged to submit their work. We invite students at different stages to submit their work to the post-graduate symposium:

• Masters students who have identified their proposal topic and are at an advanced stage (third or fourth semester) of research with respect to their topic. Such students can get helpful criticism before their thesis defense

• Doctoral students who have identified their proposal topic and are at an advanced stage (third or fourth year) of research with respect to their dissertation. Such students can get helpful criticism before their dissertation defense.

• Doctoral students who are yet to concretize their research topic and are at initial stages (first or second year) of research. Such students can get helpful criticism about the two or three research ideas, research questions and approach they intend to pursue.

Submission Instructions

All submissions must be in English and must be sent directly to Dr. Raghu Reddy (raghu.reddy@iiit.ac.in).  Submission should be limited to 6 pages in ACM format.  All submissions must try to address the following points:

• Problem statement and its importance/relevance
• Some background and related work
• Specific research questions that your research is trying to tackle
• Proposed solution and its novelty
• Proof deduced, prototypes developed, etc.
• Current status and Future plans

A few of the bullet points may not apply to some of the submissions (especially students whose research is in the initial stages), but try to put in your best effort in addressing all the bullet points.
