Important Dates

Pre-registration deadline: May 20 2019 Notification of acceptance of pre-registration: May 25 2019

Objectives

The SERI Update Meetings, which are planned to be conducted annually, will be informal events, with the aim of bringing together faculty, students, industrial researchers, and practitioners working in software engineering to present and discuss advances in their areas of interest. Each participant can volunteer to make a presentation about a foundational aspect, algorithm, approach, or experience, focusing on novel or interesting insights, relating to any aspect of software engineering such as requirements, design, development, analysis, testing, verification, or deployment.

Participation and Selection

Anyone interested in research or advances in software engineering is welcome to participate. If you are interested in participating, please pre-register online via the "Pre Register" link. The pre-registration deadline is May 20, 2019. The form asks whether you are interested in just attending, or whether you are also interested in making a presentation. If you indicate interest in making a presentation, please also indicate the tentative title of the presentation. In case your presentation is about work that has already been published as a paper, in the "Tentative title" space itself you may also indicate the name of the conference or journal in which your work is published. (You may edit your submitted form after submitting it if you need to, upto the same deadline.) Participation requests and presentation requests (submitted via the pre-registration form) will be accepted subject to space availability, keeping in mind the need for diversity among participants. Accepted participants will be notified soon after the pre-registration deadline. There will be no registration fee. Participants will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation (pointers to nearby accommodation options will be provided later on).

Student Grants

A limited amount of funding is available for travel and accommodation reimbursements. Reimbursement is only for bonafide students who are accepted for participation in the meeting. Economy class airfare or up to II tier AC train ticket, to and fro between the student's home town or town where their college is located and Bangalore, is reimbursable. Accommodation for up to three nights is also reimbursable. Local travel like taxi fare is not reimbursable. Proof of student status, travel and/or accommodation receipts, including boarding passes, would be required. Maximum reimbursement is Rs. 7000 per student. Students may indicate in the pre-registration form whether they plan to seek this reimbursement.
