Software Engineering Research in India
The 1st Software Engineering Research in India (SERI) Update
Meeting will take place in IISc Bengaluru during
12–13 July, 2019. This event is sponsored by the
India Chapter of SIGSOFT Special Interest Group of ACM.
Venue
All talks will be held in Room 254, Computer Science and Automation Department, IISc.
Dinner will be served in CSA Lawns.

Objectives
The SERI Update Meetings, which are planned to be conducted
annually, will be informal events, with the aim of bringing
together faculty, students, industrial researchers, and
practitioners working in software engineering to present
and discuss advances in their areas of interest.
Each participant can volunteer to make a presentation about a
foundational aspect, algorithm, approach, or experience, focusing
on novel or interesting insights, relating to any aspect of
software engineering such as requirements, design, development,
analysis, testing, verification, or deployment.
Participation and Selection
Anyone interested in research or advances in software engineering
is welcome to participate. If you are interested in participating,
please pre-register online via the "Pre Register" link. The
pre-registration deadline is May 20, 2019. The form asks whether
you are interested in just attending, or whether you are also
interested in making a presentation.If you indicate interest in
making a presentation, please also indicate the tentative title of
the presentation. In case your presentation is about work that has
already been published as a paper, in the "Tentative title" space
itself you may also indicate the name of the conference or journal
in which your work is published. (You may edit your submitted form
after submitting it if you need to, upto the same
deadline.)
Participation requests and presentation requests (submitted via
the pre-registration form) will be accepted
subject to space availability, keeping in mind the need for
diversity among participants. Accepted participants will be notified
soon after the pre-registration deadline.
There will be no registration fee. Participants will need to
arrange their own travel and accommodation (pointers to nearby
accommodation options will be provided later on).
Student Grants
A limited amount of funding is available for travel and accommodation
reimbursements. Reimbursement is only for bonafide students who are
accepted for participation in the meeting. Economy class airfare or up
to II tier AC train ticket, to and fro between the student's home town or
town where their college is located and Bangalore, is reimbursable.
Accommodation for up to three nights is also reimbursable. Local travel
like taxi fare is not reimbursable. Proof of student status, travel and/or
accommodation receipts, including boarding passes, would be required.
Maximum reimbursement is Rs. 7000 per student. Students may indicate in
the pre-registration form whether they plan to seek this reimbursement.
